Kanye West Bonding With Dad During Cancer Treatment

Kanye West is bonding with his dad Ray West following his father's prostate cancer diagnosis.

According to TMZ, Ye is making the best out of the unfortunate situation, choosing to spend quality time with his dad since the former Black Panther and photojournalist began receiving treatment in a Los Angeles hospital.

While the 41-year-old rapper and his father have not been on bad terms, the two reportedly became distant due to Ray living in Chicago and Kanye living in Los Angeles. So, they're taking advantage of the situation now that Ray is in LA.

Kanye has even brought his children, North, Saint, and Chicago to visit their grandfather in the hospital. "Ray's been able to spend time with him, Kim [Kardashian] and his three grandkids," a source told the site.

TMZ was the first to report that Kanye dropped everything to be by his dad's side following his prostate cancer diagnosis. The online publication also reported that Ray is responding well to treatment and expected to be "okay."

Ray's diagnosis comes just over 10 years after the death of Kanye's mother, Donda West. The 58-year-old passed away in 2007 due to post-surgery complications.

“When his mom suddenly passed away, Kanye was all alone," a source told People following Ray's diagnosis. "Kim is helping to support Kanye during this tough time — they are always there for each other."

Kanye rapped about his father on the song "Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1" from his album The Life Of Pablo. He later tweeted the song's lyrics along with a heartfelt caption that read, "I cried writing this. I love my Dad."

The lyrics read: "Sorry that I ain’t call you back / The same problems my father had / All his time / All he had / All he had 'In what what he dreamed/ All his cash /Market crashed / Hurt him bad / People get divorced for that / Drop some stacks, Pops is good / Momma pass in Hollywood."

Kanye and his father were last spotted getting lunch together in March.
