Senior Citizens Get Into Fight Over Free Samples

Two senior citizens had a scuffle after one of the men cut to the front of the line for some free cheese samples at a Costco in South Carolina. Police said that a 70-year-old man was waiting in line at the store when a 72-year-old man “cut in line, took some cheese and walked off.”

The 70-year-old let it go at the time and continued to shop. A few minutes later, he was waiting on line for a free sample of a cheeseburger when the man who cut the line walked by. He sarcastically told the older man that “he could get in front of him because he knew he would just cut the line anyway.”

The 72-year-old man responded by saying: "I will do it again!”

He then called the younger man a "jerk" and then blindsided him with a punch that knocked the man's hat off his head and glasses off his face. He then fled the store before police could arrive.

According to The State newspaper, police spoke with the older man at his home and he admitted to throwing the punch but claimed he was defending himself. Police have not made any arrests and are waiting to review surveillance footage from Costco to determine whether his story is accurate.
