Spanish pop singer Mónica Naranjo began singing at a very early age. As she grew older, she matured into a sensual young woman and was crowned as Miss Cataluña in a local beauty contest. After she married composer/producer Cristóbal Sansano, the opportunity to sign with a major label soon came. In 1994, her self-titled debut album was released by Sony Music and featured the hit singles "Fuego de Pasión" and "Sola." In April 1996, the artist consolidated her popularity in Latin America after being acclaimed during a live performance at Mexico City's ~Metropolitan Theater. In addition, Mónica Naranjo's compositional skills were requested by Ricky Martin on "¿Dónde Estaras?" and Chilean Myriam Hernández on "Deseo." Following the release of Palabra de Mujer, Phil Manzanera and Brian Rawling produced her album Minage.
